Cookie policy
Short version: this website does not set any cookies.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store, typically to remember a login, a preference or your behaviour across visits. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, tracking pixels and browser fingerprinting — do comparable jobs.
2. What this site uses
None of them. This is a plain static website: HTML, CSS and a small amount of JavaScript that runs entirely in your browser to open the menu, expand FAQ answers and animate sections as they scroll into view. That script stores nothing, sends nothing, and reads nothing about you.
| Technology | Used here? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| First-party cookies | No | Nothing is stored on your device by us. |
| Third-party / advertising cookies | No | We run no advertising and no remarketing. |
| Analytics | No | No Google Analytics or equivalent. We do not count visitors. |
| Local / session storage | No | Our JavaScript keeps no state between visits. |
| Social media embeds | No | No like buttons, feeds or embedded players. |
3. The one third-party request
The site loads its two typefaces (Archivo and IBM Plex Mono) from Google Fonts. To deliver those files
your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and
fonts.gstatic.com, which means Google receives your IP address and browser
details as part of that request. Google states that it does not set cookies on the Google
Fonts endpoints. If you would rather avoid this entirely, blocking those two hosts in your
browser costs you nothing but the typeface — the site falls back to your system font and
remains fully readable.
4. Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard access logs — IP address, timestamp, page requested, browser user-agent — for security, abuse prevention and capacity planning. These are not cookies and are not used to build any profile of you. They are held on the provider's normal retention schedule and then deleted.
5. Links to other sites
Where we link elsewhere — to the Information Commissioner's Office, for example — that site has its own cookie practices, which we do not control. This policy covers modulartechs.org only.
6. If this ever changes
If we later add anything that stores data on your device, we will update this page and put a proper consent mechanism in place before it goes live — not after. Any change will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
